What's the deal with my laptop...

Everytime I hear my fan spin loudly the mouse tends to pause every so often when I move it around. Anything I need to change in my configuration? I'm under an XP Home OS.

Which fan in your computer? What are your computer specs? Are sure it's not your cdrom?

I'm fairly positive its not my CD-Rom. It seems like its the processor cooling fan.

Laptop specs
AMD Athlon XP 2000 (1.67Ghz)
256MB Memory
266MHz System bus
256kb L2 on-chip cache
DVD/CD-RWcombo

it has happened to every laptop i have seen. Don't know why it happens.

Possible efficiency issue with laptop cooling fans you think? They are compacted after all...

it's never happened on my inspiron 8200...no matter how fast/many of the fans are going.

Do you see this when it's plugged in also? I have an Omnibook 6100 and I've never seen this, even when not plugged in AND playing games. Could it be the newer laptops with more current draw?
