what is the warranty on most major manufacturers motherboards? (like asus, abit, epox, etc)

do they have a lifetime warranty? or 1 year? or does it vary?

i can find little warranty info on thier web sites, or maybe its just hidden well?

how do you RMA a board? can it only be done through the re-seller that originally sold the mobo? if so, is there no way to RMA a board that you bought from a private individual?

thanks for any info on this, my pile of dead mobo's is getting too big and i need to know if i should trash them or if there is some value in these :)

you normal have a 1 year waranty. I usually deal with the maker directly. also I think asus went to a 3 year waranty on their products after 2000.

All depends on the manufacturer. With most you have to go through the dealer for all warranty claims, if there is any. Some allow you to RMA directly.

I just e-mail their support and tell them the dealer I got it from went belly up. Most wrkd with you, but still have to jump through some hoops.
