fat is water soluble.

What?

Fat (lipids) are hydrophobic and form micelles when they come in contact with water molecules (non-polar carbon chain moves away from polar H20). That is why you use soap to wash away grease from your dinner plates; soap breaks the fat molecules up so they don't form colonies of grease and therefore become swept away by the water.

But please be advised that drinking water and dish detergent WILL NOT BREAK AWAY THE FAT IN YOUR BODY.

a secondary effect is that by drinking more water, you may drink less empty calories such as soda.

I dont really drink soda. I drink iced tea at home. The powder kind and I make it real light. More water and less powder.

basically, it's just that it keeps you hydrated without adding more empty calories. As well as what everyone else said, but the main thing is water is calorie-free, so you get all the hydration you need without any extra crap.

i think is what he meant

or maybe, lard is fat soluble

or jelly is water soluble

or water is water soluable , so the water takes more water from your water cells

i dunno
You = fat

At least you're pretty again.

I drink beer all day long, does that work the same way? It's mostly water anyways, AFAIK.
You sound like you're being serious... alcohol = drying agent. Try drinking beer while playing sports... you'll realize this.

you can drink too much water, if you are not sweating profusely, like most computer geeks, then you do no need to over hydrate, in fact in can throw your electrolyte balance out and have adverse effects....if you are outside all day working hard and or playin hard and sweating, then obviously you need to drink alot more water

I've got a book at home that goes into detail about the effects of hydration. I've not read it in several years, but a part that I remember is this:

It takes your body approximately 100 calories to heat up a gallon of ice-cold water to normal body temperature. So if you drink a gallon of ice-cold water a day, then your body burns 100 calories for just warming the water up to 98.6F.

Granted, I don't like my water ice-cold all the time, so I'll just find another way to burn 100 calories.

*taps rh71's sarcasm-meter* Hmmm... looks like it's due for a recalibration.
