What's the current OCing method: BIOS or software?

Hey all,
More and more I see people OCing their system through Windows with programs like Clockgen. Last I heard, software OCing was sketchy at best. Has this changed?
What is the easiest and more reliable way to OC? Obviously BIOS is annoying because of the constant reboots. Is ClockGen the best for software OCing? What about nVidia's "ntune" app or whatever it is? Thanks!

I think software overclocking is reliable as long as it's reasonable and compatible with hardware. Many think that using software will let them push the system further than BIOS settings.

Having said that, I've used Nvidia's System Utility and had good luck with it. I may use software programs when I'm testing a new chip or RAM, but once I've found the maximum overclock, I'll continue to use the BIOS as much as possible.

i use the BIOS, but i've heard ntune works pretty well. Since my system still boots, but errors in prime95, when I push it too far, i doubt I'd have any more luck with a software application.
