What's the coolest souvenir I should try to get?

I've been stuck in iraq since about the 20th of Mar and i'm gonna stay stuck for at least six more months so I'm wondering what kind of stuff do you guys think I should be "acquiring" for later on in life to show the grandchildren?

a uniform from the old regime. the higher the rank the better. bonus points for republican guard or special republican guard ones.

I would save a few souvenirs that have saddams picture on them. My roomate had an old lighter with the iraqi airlines logo on one side and saddams picture on the other. You can bet stuff like that isn't going to be made anymore.

A uniform sounds cool, try to get some law books from the old regime if you can get them.

What unit are you with, and where in Iraq are you?
I would also agree with getting any kind of military or government souvenirs.

I've got an Iraqi helmet but it's about as tough as something you would see Bob the Builder wearing. I mean this thing is literally made of some kind of cheap plastic. I also have an LBV (which is what soldiers carry their ammo and stuff in).
And other than Saddam on a stick I can't think of anything that cool. I did manage to get to smoke a cuban cigar that we found in a palace about a month or two ago.

I'm currently in a lovely little town called Ramadi, I've been here about3 months prior to that we kind of all over the place. I'm with 578th SC Range Ext.

I thought that stuff had to be tossed before returning to the States. Are you going to have to sneak it?

How about hand made items from locals, that can't be found anywhere else? Not sure what that might be, but there must be something.

hey you've just gave away your secret location to the millions people on the net! time to move again.

i vote for saddam pic'd items also.
hopefully this is the only action you'll see for the rest of your life.
but if it isn't--you'll remember which war the souvenir is from.
(as opposed to just getting any ol' military item)

Bottle of Iraqi beer.
Pack of Iraqi cigarettes.
Iraqi candy bar.
Newspaper.
Some of their currency.

Not really "cool" items, just interesting.

There were alot of uniforms around before from when they discarded them but I didn't have the chance to grab one. As for the books that's a pretty cool idea. I will end up just guessing whether it's a law book or not.
