Whats the Contact PHONE # for EA Games TECH SUPPORT for BF1942??

thatsright

Diamond Member
Hi All. Got two pretty technical questions for my newly installed BF1942. But, as with virtually all web sites nowadays, EA Games really makes it virtually impossible to find a Telephone Contact # for Tech support of BF1942.

So,Does anyone know what the EA Games Tech Support Phone # Is?? Thanks a lot.

What's the problem?
My guess is that you are more likely to find a solution on a forum than from EA tech support.

EAGames phone support is worthless.

Regarding NFS:U
- My game asks me to insert the CD even though it's in the drive
- Put the CD in the drive
- It's IN the drive
- Make sure it's disk 2
- I have both disks in. I have two drives.
- A CD drive only works with one disk at a time
- I have SIX drives. It doesn't work in any of them.
- Maybe your CDROM drive is defective?
- They all work with other disks
- You CDROM drive is defective. Please send your computer in to be serviced.
- YOU are fscking defective. YOUR copy protection is preventing ME from playing the damn game *click*

Sure enough, crack the copy protection and it plays just fine.

For all other queries, such as technical support or account and billing support, please dial 866-543-5435 (or 512-434-6740 if dialing internationally) and choose the appropriate option.

When I called about MAdden having the same issue I did not let go.

We unistalled and and reinstalled and still no go.

The final answer was price less - > WE DO NOT SUPPORT COMPUTERS WITH MORE THAN ONE CD DRIVE.

I just found a crack. Seeing as I don't play online.

EA Phone support is another victim of the India tech center issue. Post your problem here I bet you can get better help anyway.

EA's copy prtection in an effort to stop piracy has incorperated that the game must be in the drive that is was installed from. However sometinmes in forgets and You can's play because although the disk is in the fdrive it doesn't play.

I'm convinced that certain titles only look at drive D (NFSU)
My drive D is a harddrive. So are C, E, F, G, and H.

Okay, sorry I should of added more info.

So Problem 1: Can I modify the default Video Settings so I can run the game @ 1280X1024 resolution?

Problem 2: And if I can, or not if I'm stuck at running the game @ 1280X960, I'd like to run the Refresh Rate @ 85Hz. But for some reason, I don't see this option in the Video Settings even though my monitor supports this refresh rate either @ 1280X1024 or 1280X960??

Problem 3: It takes EXCESSIVE amount of time to load the game after I click on a server?? I have my game installed on the D: partition of a WD 120Gig 7,200 Rpm drive with 8MB cache. And the Paging file is 2 GB and its on the Last Hard Drive Partition, G:\ which is a 80Gig Maxtor 7200RPM drive w/ 2MB Cache
And when I'm talking about the load times, I mean from the time I click on a server, till I see the Spawn points on the Map. I'm counting the time right after I click on the server, and then see the BF1942 Graphic that is all black with the logo, and then drop back to the XP Desktop, then Back to the Black page w/ BF1942 logo again, and then also the actual load page saying "Connecting To Wake Island" and the IP address.

The actual load time from when I see the "Connecting to Berlin, IP XXXX.xxxx.xxxx.xxxx:xxxx" till I can select a spawn point is about 30 seconds or less; maybe 20 seconds.

BTW: This is my rig..... P4 3.0c, ABIT IC7, 1GB of PC3500 Kingston Hyper X @ 2-2-2-5, Installed on a WD 120GB 8MB Cache, Radeon 9700 Non-Pro, SB Audigy 2 ZS.

So anyone have any idea about these 3 problems?? Thanks a million guys...........

BF1942 is infamous for taking an excessive amount of time. 256mb RAM? Fuhgittaboutit. 512? You'll be sitting for a little bit. A gig? It'll still take longer than it should. Make SURE your pagefile is disabled, BF1942 is also one of those programs that likes to page when you only have 20% physical RAM usage.

For the love of god, if you have a shitload of RAM, don't page!

don't complain about 20-30 seconds unless you have a raptor.

force refresh in video drivers like you do in anyother game. i have an lcd so i havent done this in a while, but i remember both ati and nvidia have this these days.

BF1942 takes a long time to load even on my system with a gig of ram and a 74 gig raptor. It's MUCH better than my old 512 MB and WD 80 GB SE, but still...

You can allow all refresh rates that your monitor supports by changing the "renderer.allowallrefreshrates 0" to "renderer.allowallrefreshrates 1" in your "videodefault.con" file. Higher refresh rates are easier on one?s eyes. Make sure you only use a refresh rate that your monitor will support.

Once you've done this, you will be able to open the display tab in the game and it will look like:
1024 x 768 @ 60Hz
1024 x 768 @ 85Hz
1280 x 1024 @ 60Hz
1280 x 1024 @ 85Hz

Then just select whichever one you want.
I just reread your post. I don't know why you would only get 1280 x 960 and not 1280 x 1024, it should list all the resolutions your vid card is able to display. But you may be able to modify this in your videodefault.con file also.

I don't know exactly what you mean by really long load times. It takes awhile to load those huge maps. Many people have load times of 60 seconds or more.
