I want to get a small network setup. I currently have 1 computer, and will soon be building another. But I also have a duron 650 left over from a while ago, wondering if I can put it to use cheap. Don't really have a budget, just think cheap. I would prefer this to run XP, eye candy turned off most likely. My current rig is an ECS K7S5A, Tbred 2100+, and 512MB Crucial PC2100. It would be nice to use the ECS for the duron and upgrade my other rig to an Nforce 2 or something, but that may be too costly.
My new rig will be AMD 64 of some sort, which will be my main rig. Then my current rig will be used as a backup, or in another room. If I can get the third one together its sole use would be just another node on the network. Is it worth it for that, how much will I benefit from having a 3PC network as opposed to 2, from a learning perspective?
Also I should note, I know the duron is at least capable of doing 866 on a 133Mhz FSB, if that matters.
