Hi guys,

I have an iPhone 5S that came locked for StraightTalk and their service is very expensive. The cheapest plan is $35 but they add all kinds of tax on that and comes out whopping $40 a month! That is very expensive considering I only talk 3 or 4 times a month. I should be able to unlock my phone. Are their any cheapest services I can find that will work with my iphone? I don't need any internet data, just the phone service.

Thank you

CRICKET! I pay a flat $35 with no contract. Now I believe it's $30/month. I've been a happy camper so far and it's been a little over two years.

Thanks John. I'm looking for something cheaper, like in $20 range.

It depends how much you talk I guess. You can get Tmobile pay as you go for $3/month with 30 minutes and 30 txts, after that it is $0.10/min.

Thanks guys I will check out the T-mobile. You can get sim card from them right? I'm assuming that's what will be needed after unlocking my phone.

There are a couple MVNOs you can shoehorn into a $20 budget (assuming 1 GB of data as opposed to little data):

Since you don't even want data:

That's awesome thanks for the links. I think I'm gonna start off with T-mobile to see if it will work with my phone.. if it doesn't work out I'm gonna try out some of the carriers listed in your link. Tank u so much!

T-Mobile prepaid would be the cheapest per month for someone who rarely uses the phone and with NO or little data. After that I recommend Ting. Myself, family and friends absolutely love Ting. However once I get a Pixel phone, I'll be moving to Google Fi. After Google Fi you'll be right back to the competitive prices that nearly all providers offer.
