Just out of curiosity what's the best exercise?

Would 15 minutes of jumping jacks equal 30 minutes of walking?

QFT. Of the three, jump roping is, imo, easily the most strenuous (and probably the worst on your knees and ankles). Put some weighted handles on the rope and you'll get a damn good burn going.

I used to do 500 jumping jacks as part of a workout...All it really works is your calves...they start burning like a mother...

I voted for jump rope though, since it involves the arms a lot more.

Regular walking will not do anything for you...

If you're not sore or ready to lay down after a workout, you didn't work enough...

Best in amount of work done: jump rope.
Best in building strength: jump rope, but you won't build much.
Best in the fact that you'll actually keep it up: walking.
Best in not doing damage to your body: walking.
Best in having an enjoyable time: walking.
Best in wasting your time: jumping jacks.

You didn't define best. The question thus cannot be answered singly.
