I have used both, but during the summer(live in florida) my cpu woud reach 80*C underload. Then a few weeks ago I replaced it with the aero7, and it ran like 6-7*C cooler, then I opened the case, and stuck a house fan to blow into it, now it runs like 62-65*C underload(its athlon xp 2100 palomino) I dont wana waste more arctic silver, and try out the other copper heatsink. Reason Im asking, is because Im looking to buy a mobile cpu and oc it abit, and im also looking to do a foamboard mod. Which do you guys think will be better?

just updated my bios to the newest. btw, Im using an a7v333 mobo. Theese palominos are known to run hot. could you imagine my temps when i had stock cooling on? needless to say, shes been running great since 2002

I have an Aero 7+ cooler, I don't think it's the lite version, but I'm not sure. I get about 37 idle, 42 load on a 2.2ghz T-bred core. I dunno if that helps or not but my temps are pretty moderate considering. I'm using the paste that came with the cooler too so I'm sure I'd be cooler if I used AS5.

For coolers this size, each with no heatpipes, I'd hang a lot more of my decision on the choice of metals than the innovative fan design. Not knowing anything better, I think the copper-top would be the better of the two.

But the only way to find out is to evaluate them at the very same room temperature, collecting data on idle temperatures and creating load conditions to observe load temps that are identical.

running on the copper one noew, doesnt it take a while for the arctic silver to kick in? cause right now copper is running at 67-69*C idle.
