What's the better business bureau for renting...?

Follwing this thread is the better business bureau the organization who one would contact regarding poor business practices for an apartment or would it be a housing authority or something...?

Also if a company does not claim to be a member of the better business bureau is reporting them to the BBB a concern of theirs at all?
 
Yeah, you can definately still call the BBB on a company that isn't a member, they will still record the complaint.

Being a member of the BBB is really to signify that you're a good business.

Anyway, as for your question.. I do believe there is some sort of housing authority, at least here in Oregon.. It probably differes from state to state though.

Cool - also no I haven't gotten car. I couldn't track it down last night so I will call some towing places when they open in an hour. The manager here is never at work on weekends, just some of her employees, so I'll have to write her a letter since I'm away early next week and ask for a written response then if nothing happens I'll contact the owner of the property.

 
Housing Authority won't do nothing zip zero, so forget about BBB, house authority other stuff you thought off. Housing authority makes sure you have hot water, heat etc.. conditions for living doesnt control parking or towing rules its common sence. Just pick up your car pay up forget it or take landlord to small claims court, but you gonna loose the case guaranteed. you being an ass because what they suppose to do Amber alert for skoorb? you were away they needed to do work since hired someone so they towed your car. big deal

Don't be silly - they started towing 18 hours after they put the notice down. That's fine with you? I hardly think I'm being an ass by being upset by this. You would be to, assHOLE.
 
near my house they put always 24hours or less little white paper on the tree that says police department and what day they suppose to do it. if my car was parked and i was away my car would be towed and i would be force to pay. its very reasonable and it happens all the time. sometimes they even have emegency situations such water pipe or something they would tow without a notice

Are you smoking crack? I didn't have the car parked in front of a firehydrant. I had it parked in our designated parking area and I left for a few days. They put the first notice out after 2:00 on Tuesday and started towing at 8:00 am THE NEXT DAY. That's reasonable to you? Honestly you think that's reasonable...? Do you like going through life bent over a barrel?
 
what does fire hydrant have to do with anything? cars being towed from entire spaces if they put up a official notice and if you dont move your car its part of consequence, thats why when i leave without my car I leave it with relative or friend. there is no laws for how many hours that notice must be in prior work. i am sure they can put notice to remove your cars by 6pm and if you dont do it they will tow it

So Let's say you have to be at work at 10:00 AM some morning. You get up at 8:30 and see that at 7:45 they put up a notice saying all cars had to be towed by 8:00 and yours is gone. That's cool with you? I'm sure you'll say no, and when you do how is that not cool but <18 hours notice is cool?

I can't believe you really think it's reasonable that a person can't leave their car at their piece of sh*t apartment building for a few days when they go somewhere and they have to go put the thing in storage so that it doesn't get towed on the whim of the management.
 
you usually its not an hour notice I would say half a day notice. a month ago they did pipe work, put a notice at 6pm and cars have to be removed by 5:30am. so i had no choice to wake up at 5am to remove my car

I guess around here official no parking permits have to approved by local precinct and each car that is being towed, tow driver has to go in the precinct show that his license for towing and provide his company info and cars licence plate and where its being towed, they have a book with all cars towed
 
I cant believe around is no 24hr prencincts or sheriff stations, police have towing records so you wouldnt claim your car stolen. before they file stolen report they look in towing record. if my car was missing first thing i would go is to local precinct where it was parked 24hrs a day

I didn't read much of the other thread, but did you ever get a notice that your car was towed? If you didn't I'd file a police report. Your management certainly sounds like they need a visit by the police.

Just a notice that it would be towed (left a couple of days prior to the event). Of course nothing say where it had gone or anything. I'm gonna write my letter soon 🙂

Have you actually contacted the police yet concerning it? You could just claim your apt had your car towed illegally or they stole it or something...
