Any models, specifically to look out for?
If you are talking desktop sized CRT, then I believe the Sony GDM-FW900 is the one to get.
I can handle 80hz refresh at 2304 x 1440, and will have much better black levels and contrast than all plasma and LCD (unless you count OLED, though I discounted that due to $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$)
Negative.
Anything that has the output (VGA, HDMI, etc) to utilize a SVGA monitor is better served with a native resolution digital panel.
For old game consoles, you want something that can do 15khz video monitor that can input RGB with composite sync @ 240p.
