What's the best way to Underclock?

Get a motherboard that undervolts and drop the FSB. What CPU are you using? I assume the one in your sig. Try unlocking the multiplier and play with different settings.

Its actually for my 1U server, it is another XP 1700+ T-Bred A 0222. My server has been crashing about once every week, so i'm thinking that the problem might be heat.

Don't drop the clock then, add more cooling. What are you using for your HSF combo?

Also, if it isn't already, reverse the fan direction on the CPU (exhausting) - you should notice a nice 4-5 degree temperature delta. 😀

he meant delta as in the triangle....ie, change 😉

he meant take the fan off, flip it over, and then screw it back on so its blowing the other way...give it a shot, it might work for ya

can you check the tmperature in bios or something?

Try undervoltaging instead. See if the CPU is stable at the rated speed at a lower voltage than what is specified.

i recommend lowering the mult as apposed to fsb if you can
unless u also wanna lower yur mem speed and undervolt it too but that might take mods

t-breds run good at low voltages it should be easy for you
have fun

also i agree with wixt0r, try running stock speeds at first at a lower voltage to see how low you can get it while still remaining stable
