I was in Walmart the other day stocking up on cheap stuff for the apartment I just moved into. As I was in the aisle where the utensil organizers are in, some lady was commenting on how cheap things are. I, being the only other person in the aisle, responded with a chuckle and simple 'yea'. I guess that gave her permission to strike up a full on conversation. I was wearing a Columbia U shirt that day and she commented on it saying I must be smart...which resulted in the opposite for her. I'm in Ohio...damn far from NY so obviously I didn't go there. Anyway, she asked me about school, and I was just being nice and gave her simple answers about my major. She then mentioned she owned a company, and immediately I put together that she's hinting at me working there. She eventually asks if I'd be interested in reply...and I told her not really, since I wasn't looking for a job since I have school and all to worry about. She ended up taking my number, even though I suggested my email address as a more convenient form of communication. Well fast forward to now...she just called me, and I of course didn't answer. She seemed like she really wanted me to work there, or at least apply. But then again, that could be some marketing trick she learned in school to apply to her business. An I just listened to the voicemail, she told me to call her back like 4 times over the course of the 30second message, and then said we can chat from there and discuss where to proceed.

So basically, how the hell do I just say no and make sure she never calls me back? I have no experience when it comes to working, especially in a professional area, which is what this seems like.

Cliffs:
-Lady 'offered' me a job at Walmart for some company that is expanding
-I was just humoring her and being polite
-She just called me; I didn't answer; She left voicemail
-Voicemail is useless
-I don't want her calling me back

Did she mention a position? Judging on her persistence, maybe it's something like doggystyle.

Suggestions duly noted. So you think I should call back and tell her to fuck off in a nice way...I might just tell her I landed a damn well paying job and ask her to beat the salary...

Either ignore the phone call completely and hope she doesn't call back, or the next time she calls say "I'm sorry, but I'm not interested in this. Please do not call me again."

take this chance to really mess with her. call her back and tell her all kinds of weird things about you... drug problem, sexual fetishes involving mustard, your distaste for people from the southern hemisphere. it should work itself out from there.
