What's up everyone, I just took my first shot at the mcp test on monday, needless to say I didn't pass. I took some tests at school called measure up and they really weren't that much of a help. I studied my ass off to no avail, those questions are just so long and drawn out I find myself in a mind warp after the first 25. I really suck at multiple choice question tests too. I'm more of an essay kind of guy or hands on. I have one more shot to do it for free, but I have to do it before June 30th. Anyone have any suggestions.

The questions are generated randomly from a pool, so there really is no good way to study. I suggest just going over your material a few more times and try some more practice tests. You might get lucky and get really easy questions.

I'm assuming you're doing the WinXP one? That was by far the easiest of them all, and if you have trouble with that one, i'm not even sure it's worth pursueing. Anyways, i hear the tests are different now as of March? That now there's actual simulations?

This is what you can do to pass your MCP and other tests:
1. Get a book, read it, highlight it and studied it.
2. Create a lab. Go through scenarios.
3. Get Transcenders and studied the crap out of them. Study until you are getting perfects on the practice tests. But most importantly, be sure to know WHY the answer is wrong or right, otherwise you'll just memorize the answers, which doesn't really do you too much good.

That's what I do and have never failed a cert test. ;)

Good luck.
