I'm getting a slightly sore throat, I think I caught it from my wife.

Anyone got some cold killing suggestions?

Zinc lozenges and vitamin C help sometimes if you catch it early enough. Other than that, you pretty much just have to let things take their course since you're dealing with a virus.

Figure out whatever liquid beverage that you can tolerate drinking that isn't too bad for you, and get lots of it.

Flush out it out with hydration :p

I prefer cold gatorade, REALLY cold water, or anything carbonated (limeseltzer 50/50 with orange juice is my favorite treatment for a cold in progress).

If you're bored, I'd also suggest gargling Listerine at night and in the morning too, though I'm not if it's actually killing any germs in the throat :p

Echinecea and vitamin C.

If you don't want to buy the pills.. go to the grocery store and get a couple of the SoBe drinks.. the tropical one.. looks like milk, it's coconut flavored.. It's really good, and it has echinecea and vitamin C in it. Trust me, do this and your sore throat will be on the wayside after a few gulps. :)

Long walk, short pier.

:p

I find that a dose of a Vitamin A, C, E pill above / beyond my daily vitamin curbs the onset of a cold if I catch it early enough. They sell 'em at Publix and it has like 3-400% of daily allowance for each vitamin. That and drink LOTS of fluids (mostly water--but anything helps.)

Echinacea is the bomb.
When I feel a cold coming on, I take 2 doses of a handful of pills. Something like 12 a day. No more cold. :D
