Whats the best way to share files over my network?

Well, i have a pretty decent home network (about 8 boxes) and i could easily put one up as a fileserver where i can slap all kinds of useful things that i have on just about every computer. For now im using windows filesharing but it really sucks. Is there anyway i can setup an old windows xp box to act as a fileserver? Thanks!

Generally I'd go with FTP maybe a BulletProof FTP Server and a Flash FXP Host... Or you could go with a yHub Host and DC++
