All I'm seeing:

Half-Life 2 - 39.95 - HL2 & HL2 Lost Coast

Source Premier Pack - 59.95 - Counter-Strike: Source, Day of Defeat: Source, Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: Deathmatch, Half-Life 2: Lost Coast, Half-Life: Source

Valve Complete Pack - 79.95 - Counter-Strike, Counter-Strike: Condition Zero, Counter-Strike: Source, Day of Defeat, Day of Defeat: Source, Deathmatch Classic, Half-Life, Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: Deathmatch, Half-Life 2: Lost Coast, Half-Life: Blue Shift , Half-Life: Source, Opposing Force, Ricochet, Team Fortress Classic

Looks like Source Premier's the way to go for me - Too much sh!t that I'll never touch in the complete pack. Source Premier = Steam Silver?

Hmm...that's kinda strange. I guess they changed the packages since I purchased the game last year. The Silver package I bought includes everything in that Valve Complete Pack, I think, but it was only $59 for me. The basic Bronze package was just HL2 and CS:S (and Lost Coast in the future since that's for all HL2 owners I think). The Gold package included everything in the Silver package, plus promotional stuff like a poster, shirt, hat, soundtrack CD, stuff like that...

It looks like the Source Premier Pack is basically the old Bronze package (which was $49) plus DOD:S and HL1:S.

Premier it is then.

So how's Steam actually work when I play HL2? I gotta DL it first? Or does it like...stream?

My apologies for the confusion

Once you've downloaded all the game content, you can just launch HL2 and it'll connect to Steam and check for any updates (unless you're running in Offline mode) and then run the game. Did that answer your question..?

Download Steam... It'll get any updates after installing itself. Select a game you want to play and it should start to download. That's how it was in the previous version of Steam, doubt it's changed much.

I originally bought Silver for $60 it was definatly worth it.
I then found a good deal for a opened retail bronze package for $8 I've seen some for $30 brand new

Either way I think you can get the bronze retail pack for pretty cheap now. Much less than $50.

I guess if you really want to play DoD then go for Steam premier other wise I'd find a good deal on a retail package.

Naw the new premier isn't quite the same as silver. They took the silver package and made it the gold price. And they realized the gold was crap all along cause it was for a stupid shirt and poster or whatever. Even with the different options, I would still go with the $60 premier. All you miss out on is HL1 stuff, which although was a good selling point for the previous bronze vs. silver, I've only used HL1 on Steam like two times in the past year. And WTF, HL2 DM isn't included with the retail package?? The $20 more is more than worth it for CS:S, DoD:S, and HL2 DM.
