So today the girlfriend and I went to Burger King and ate lunch. We took some of the fries with us because we couldn't finish it all. When we got the fries out in the car we noticed something really disgusting: there was a FRIED FLY in with the fries.

I can't believe they would serve crap like that among such filth. There is no excuse for this happening. With that being said, what is the best way to make this place sorry for what they did? Should I just call the health department and leave it at that? Call corporate offices?

You're in for a world of surprise if you think the health inspector is going to think anything of a fly being cooked in the fryer...

It won't hurt you. Think there is no other animal residue in the fry pot?
oh, and I'm sure the fly only ate a little bit. ;)

Seriously, who cares? It's just a fly, not like it would kill you, or even make you sick for that matter.

If this was a common occurrence I think you'd be justified in reporting it to the health department and/or BK corporate, but even at the cleanest establishments (not claiming BK is, just saying) stuff like this happens. I wouldn't get too worked up over it if the place looks clean and you haven't had any problems before.

This is gross, but not a huge problem. Fly's fly around...one flew in through an open door/window/hatch...landed in fry-o-later...got served. (In more ways than one.) Probably happens a lot.

No big deal if it's a one-time occurrence. Hell, flies & bugs keep flying into my mouth all the time when riding a bike.

if you were served a fried mouse, I would pursue that. Otherwise, a fried fly (impossible to say for a chinaman) is not much to waste your time on.

What filth? A fly got in the door, fell in the fryer, the person making the fries didn't see it...that's it.

Just tell the store. I'm sure it was an honest mistake. It's not like there was a cockroach or a rat in your fries. Flies are everywhere.

Going back to the BK with the fly should net you a free meal (assuming you want one) ... beyond that theres nothing you can do.

As Captante said, they'll probably give you a free meal for that.

I know that the local BK will do similar things if they simply screw an order up. o_0

A cockroach or rat, I'd be pissed. A fly, I'd be grossed out and just write them a letter. Those little mofos are everywhere and harder to control. Shit happens. Go back, tell them what happened in a well mannered fashion and let it go.

Hey hoser, if you put a mouse in a beer bottle, you can get a free case of beer from the brewer.

:p

I gotta watch that movie again.

You should be a lot more worried about the live spider you're going to swallow when you're asleep tonight.

Does the mouse have to be dead, or just drunk? :D

I found an ant on my big Mac, got a $44 million dollar settlement with Mcdonalds the week later.

Jeeeze, it's fast food. If a fried fly in the bottom of your fries is the worst thing that will happen to you, then I'd be grateful!

Big deal. You've probably eaten hundreds of flies, count yourself lucky it wasn't a finger or part of a rat.

At least the horseflesh and rotted carcasses of the local roadkill got past you...

You, ahhh, going to finish that burger now?
