Let's say you changed offices, or someone stole your chair and replaced it, you sit down and notice after a few hours that the chair stinks. It leaves a residue of stink on your clothing when you go home.

What's the best way to get the stink out of the office chair, assuming the office will not replace it for you?

Fill it with your own stink. Just keep farting and let the poo particles accumulate.

That or fabreeze.

I've used a product called nilodor. It kind of stinks itself, so I used it at the end of a day after an old employee left and his office didn't smell right. I sprayed down the office, the carpet and the chair. The next day I walked into the office and it was fine for the next employee.

is it cigarette smoke or butt smell on the chair? Because if it's either, buy a new chair.

The stink accumulates from chemical compounds left from residual metabolism passing through the gastric juices of their small intestines.

Or, alternatively they could be the byproduct of fecal or aerobic enterobacteria that have migrated out of their clothes and into the chair. There's microscopic holes in pants that allow for air to travel through ya know, that allows for one way bacterial traffic too, especially during mass gas transit.

Get a new chair.

Soon your own stink will conquer the old like an invading horde and crush them, and you won't even notice.

Lucky for me all the chairs in my office are the same. If I need to I can just come in early and do a swap with someone else. Best time to strike is after carpet cleaning night. That way if the victim notices it can be blamed on the cleaning crew since they are always mixing up the chairs anyways.

break it and ask the office manager for a replacement?

We don't get replacements, only the chance to hunt around the building for another used chair after someone leaves. Most of the chairs in our office are 10+ years old, a bunch of them have messed up back support, broken wheels, etc..

Unfortunately the employees that used the chair for 5+ years leaves some butt smell in it, and that's my problem, I can't seem to find one that doesn't smell like ass. Then that smell gets on my clothing and I start to stink, which makes me furious.

1. List chair on ebay as previously used by 10 year old girl.

2. Watch as Japanese guys get into bidding war over chair.

3. ...

4. Profit!

Ahh yeah someone "stole" your chair and "replaced" it.

How do you get the stink out?

Food for thought:

Farting into a petri dish will get ya colonies galore. Clothed or unclothed. Fond memories of intro microbiology.

There's no saving the current chair, but when you get a new chair make sure you wear underwear when you sit in it from now on.
