What's the best way to get rid of an ANT problem?

I have an ant problem in my room. It's annoying because I can't let any food/drink sit at my desk for more than 5 minutes without having a dozen ants crawling towards/on it. That means no soda whie vegitating in front of the computer screen. I don't even know where the ants come from, since they do not come from a specific direction. I've tried those COMBAT traps but they are useless. I was looking into buying those gadgets that plug into an outlet and supposedly repel ants by sound, but i hear those are worthless too. Does anyone have any suggestions? I would fumigate my room, but then I'd have to move out all my furniture which would be a pain in the arse.

Then you get birds to eat the spiders;)

Accually mix up some sugar and borax laundry soap and put in the path of the ant. They will take the sugar and soap back and when they eat the soap they will die:D

find the pile and pour a cup of "Malt-O-Meal" cereal puffs on it and they die within 24 hours. best organic ant killer, and in most places under $2.00 for a whole BAG! compare em to the box kind.

ants release furic acid when injured/squished... and other ants can "smell" this and wont come near it. You can buy Furic acid (its VERY weak, like vinegar) and spread it around along the cracks where the ants come in and they will NOT cross the line.... (you can buy it at most drug stores, like walgreens, etc...)

This doesn't kill them, but controllers them from coming out where you dont want.

The borax/sugar trick works best for killing them, and make sure you use powdered sugar, not granular.

we had flying ants one year coming from somewhere. We bought the traps, bought the sprays, and finally picked up a tiny little bottle of this fluid. It could have possibly of been that furic acid, but we put two little drops down on a piece of paper supplied with the bottle. The ants stopped the next day and they hadn't come back to that spot for the entire year.

Try Windex....I know it sounds crazy, but I read it on the internet somewhere. It kills them in about 10-15 seconds and must leave some residue because I never had them come back. I sprayed a bunch on top of the ants that I could find and soaked the little path they were taking...

Final cost, $0.01 and 5 minutes.

You would not think that if one day you opened up your pantry, grabbed a bag of chips, opened it up and just as you were raising the first chip to your mouth, you noticed the chip was covered in ants that were now crawling up your hand.

In terror, you throw the chip and the bag on the counter. 1,232,564,213,010 ants fall out of the bag and are now marching all over you counter, sink, wall, floor and everywhere else.

After 23 minutes, you kill all the ants (you hope) from the previous sentence. You look in the pantry and to your horror the ants are everywhere. Somehow they have even managed to get into bags/boxes that have never been opened. :|

You throw away about $100 worth of food, spend the next week spraying, stomping and squishing every one of those little sons of bitches you see.

That happened to me two years ago. What amazes me is that I am "Felix Unger." There are no crumbs on my floor, I don't leave food/dirty plates in the sink. I do not leave food scraps/bones in the garbage pail; I immediately take that stuff down to the dumpster.

Ants are evil.

When I lived in Vero Beach the house always had ants. We just made sure everything was sealed right and then only messed with them when they started getting pushy and walking on the counters while food was being prepared.

Don't call them, don't write letters to them, and don't go to events where they are.
Oh wait...
You meant Ants not Aunts. :p :D :) :p

We had that problem when we moved in here, bought a bunch of ant traps and haven't had a problem since. You can get em at the supermarket.
