Whats the best way to get rid of a headache?

I have this headache that is really really painful, I feel like I am going to be sick. I took a couple advil before I went to sleep last night because I had the headache then, but it did not go away, so I took a couple more this morning when I woke up, and I still have the headache. I am in pain here, whats the best way to get rid of this headache, or possibly migraine?

Things that work (a bit) for my fiance.

1. Black out any windows (if you're sensitive to light)

2. Cold packs (ice or cold water) on the back of your neck

Keep drinking; after awhile you'll feel much better.

Smash your pinky toe with a ball peen hammer; it'll take your mind completely off your aching head.

Remove your head (using the method of your choice); problem solved.

Drink warm water , your body absorbs it quicker.
Use a pain killer IBprofrin is better for head problems and Tylenol/asprin better for body aches.
Heat your feet and cold compress your head, this wil draw away the blood from your head which is what is causing the increased pressure/pain.

Excedrin Migraine (best you can do without a prescription). I think you have a small migraine. A full blown migraine keeps you bed-ridden and you'd be sensitive to light (even a computer monitor). You can't sleep them off until after you take something for it...

this works for me: 3 excedrin - not generic aspirin - & rub both temples fairly hard in circular motion with fingertips for a few minutes.

I usually take an aleve and lay down where it's dark and quiet. An hour to two hours later my headaches are usually gone.

I've also found that massaging the bridge of my nose helps.

if its a migrain, you are screwed/see a doctor

if its a "normal" headach, take two naproxen and drink 1 liter of water and lay down

Excedrin Migraine is the exact same formula as normal Excedrin...

Personally, I prefer Tylenol (Acetaminophen) for headaches. Ibuprophen does nothing for me.

If it's a migraine and hasn't gone yet, you may need to go to a doctor and get an injection.... probably Toradol or maybe even Demerol with some Phenergan.

Aleve, or Naproxen works great for me, but not as well for my wife. Depends what's causing the headache I guess.
