What's the best way to clean a cedar fence?

Last time I used a dilute bleach solution. Is this okay for the wood or is there a better method?

You can soak it with the bleach solution, then wash it down real good with a rented power washer. Careful with a power washer and cedar, it will start to take chunks out of the wood.

Any suggestions on a good stain that will complement the wood?

I used a clear coat previously and it didn't hold up well.

we used to use this cetol 20-something stuff. made by sikkens IIRC.

seemed pretty good, although i really forget.

I'd use a pressure washer. That's what I use on my fence, and it looks great
