RODI

Reverse Osmosis De-ionizer

It's all I'll use for my marine reef tank.

reverse osmosis is the way to go... we've got one that feeds water to the fridge... damn is the water sooo good. We don't even drink the water out of the faucet anymore (tastes gross)

I use PUR and have been fairly happy.
You have to shop around to get a deal on the replacement filters though.
And be careful, some PUR fliters are faulty.. faulty as in they only last half the amount of use as usual...(You can't tell by looking at the indicator guage.. it doesn't help, it just gets used faster and that's not something you notice in everyday usage). I called and they sent me a replacement for free.

I dunno how accurate his info is...but I was still impressed and informed about differing filtration systems

looks like carbon is good, but (carbon+KDF)=t3h 1337 :)

he didn't point out where to find one of these system...time to google ;)

if anyone has info where to get one of these please share!

-thx, FP

Depends on what you want filtered & the application. But, for most application a 2 stage 10" undersink setup should be sufficent (20~10 micron polypropylene sediment cartridge, and a 5~1 micron carbon block cartridge).

It get expensive if you have poor water quality or demand extream treatment, such as heavy metal & high sediment concerntration, UV, reverse osmosis, and clorine salt.
