Whats the best vreg cooler for under $30???

I need one since my NB gets really hot, and i have the P5B-Deluxe. I will not cut up the current cooler for RMA purposes. I saw Koolance has one but that thing is expensive as hell.

The HR-05 and HR-05 SLI keep my chipset around 30c. If it'll fit your board I'd suggest that, it's awesome for a passive cooler. I strapped a thin 80mm fan to it just for a little extra cooling.

this is actually your best bet. As i have clearly stated, there arent many vreg blocks.

I think EK might make one for your board, however, remembering your design, i dont think you want an added restriction on your loop. You have a ApogeeGT which is more restrictive then a D-tek fusion, so your performance might get effected by your 655 pump not pushing enough flow.



My personal is the evercool 60x60x10mm aluminum fan. YES i messured it, and it would lay flat on the vregs. The vregs span ~ 60mm x 20mm on my board. 10mm of it is dedicated to aluminum fins, and the other 10 has regulator blocks. I wouldnt expect it to be that much different on yours.

Just wait until i get it! i'll take pictures to show exactly what i mean. But this might be the golden egg, people were looking for in cooling there vregs!

Only reason i want to cool the vregs is because the NB gets hot.

Oh and the HR-09 looks wierd can someone paint a pic for me on how it would look. Is it an "L" shape, or a tower?

The HR-09 will come in two versions: the HR-09U (straight under and over) and the HR-09S (slanted version). Interesting that it has a "base" plate on both sets of fins -- maybe to fit both short and long sets of mosfets. Just flip it over for compatability with whatever board. The slant version maybe for applications with larger CPU heatsinks. In any case, I'm speculating at this point, and it will be nice when Thermalright comes up with a set of installation instructions and a motherboard compatability list.

well im on a apex on the intel boards. so chances are there will definitely be a version for the 680i

and i think it will fit the 680i your right it does flip over to be smaller. The vregs on my board have 2 versions. one next to the cpu and one on top. One side apears it will fit on the top and the other on the side.

However, i dont see the super benifit of using them. They would only add to the bling factor. I think the fan mod i listed above thermal paded in front of the stock fins will do more then a adaquit job at cooling.

If your in doubt, wait til wednesday. I know i said tuesday, but one of my parts didnt get shipped out til yesterday.
