I'm looking for software to do basic editing for MPEGs. Something that's easy to use (not for me actually).

Any ideas? Thanks!

Yeah, just copy pasting and the such. Simple things. It's for my boss's sony digital camera, not sure which MPEG format it is. He just wants to edit out bad stuff in the movies, like a bad openning or ending

thanks

I will check it out, thanks. Also, can you crop the movie image so that all the things around the item you're filming (a dog per se) are taken out? Thanks

I've used MPEG Video Wizard in the past and it did a very good job with editing and cropping video files. It's not free, but I think there is a free trial for 30 days or so.

This is a question actually.
Wouldn't the Windows Movie maker do that?

Premire allows you to crop any movie frames and paste it anywhere on the frame range. You can also paste still image on any frame range. I did cropped unwanted frames and link it together no problem. I used version 6.0 of Premire. Latest version right now is P. Pro. If you have Adobe package (Photoshop, After Effect, Premire, and Illustrator) makes your job easier.
