whats the best video card?

i am new to the video card market.
what is the best video card right now?
i've been hearing alot from ati brand
with the chipset nvidia. looking for something
under $130.00 with strong 2D/3D.
any recommendations.

You mentioned Strong 2D, so that lets out Nvidia cards. They have terrible 2D.

A blanket statement that is clearly false. A lot of nVidia's cards have great 2D image quality, mine included.

And yes, that Nvidia "terrible 2D" statement is very false.
The 2d is on par with most video cards, which is good.
Most that have seen ATI cards would rate it's 2D GREAT, and much better than the nVidia cards, but in my case, the nVidia card has absolutely 100% perfect 2D, so I don't see how anything could be better than perfect? I do think that while the ATI card may indeed have better 2d, "some" here bring that up because they can find no other justification for buying a slower ATI card over the faster nVidia card. Saying nVidia has terrible 2D would be the same as saying ATI has terribly slow 3d. Both are far from the truth.
