You could probably even beat this price by close to $20, but for some reason there are many versions of the 9600 on the street (carrying the ez, lite, etc... designations), and they all have varying clock speeds. This makes buying a 9600pro a little difficult. So at $172 you would be definitely getting the real deal.
The performance and price is very near that of the 9500 pro. Head to Head the two card trade benchmark victories with one another and the both overclock very well without special cooling. So one of the two are probably your card.
BUT... if you could swing the extra cash, yes going a little over $200 or buying from Ebay, the 9700 non pro will spank either one of these on their best day. \
