whats the best video card i can run with this psu?

i got a IN WIN L545P tower and I can't seem to find any other PSU with the 131x68x120mm dimention so I guess I'm stuck with this one 240watter

i have just a lg cdwriter, maxtor 7200rpm 80gig hd, onboard vid card, onboard sound card, floppy drive, 512mb (256x2 ram sticks) annnnnd that's aobut it reallly, oh and a wireless pci adapter

really just need a card with hardware t&l b/c intel865g doesn't support it.

What CPU?

Uhh, with that power supply, I'd say a GeForce 6600 for 3D, at the highest, but that's cutting it close. Though a 6600GT could run, your system might crash when it's under 3D mode (load). Typically power supply ratings are inflated, so that power supply may supply only like 165W if its 69% efficiency (something like that).

umm well i have a p4 2.4ghz socket 478 so 6600gt is out of the question?

I would say 6600GT is your best bet. Maybe a 6800NU too.

Edit: You would be power limited, and not CPU. 2.4 is plenty enough for those cards.

6600gt might be stretching it. get a 6800. it uses LESS power than a 6600gt(only around 49W) and is faster.
