for $100? I'm building a computer for some one else. I was looking at the VGA PNY Verto GEFORCE FX 128MB DDR AGP 8X 5200 DUAL VGA TV-OUT. RETAIL BOX Does DUAL VGA TV-OUT mean it has two monitor outs? Or is it including the tv as 1. Thanks guys!

A GeForce4 Ti4200 would be a better deal than an FX5200. FX5200's are junk... their performance is on par with the GeForce4 MX series.

Yes, last thing I heard all PNY cards are manufactured by MSI which is a top of the line card producer.

Wait till the 9600xt comes out, you can buy that, if not, it'll prolly drop down prices a bit, since it a quite a steal.

a 9600XT is $200, not a $100. and it wont affect the price of the lower end cards

it comes with 2 free games if you order from sapphire, which could cost you 30-50 each, so it's really not that much if you were gonna get HL2 and TR2 anyways.

Is newegg pretty good about refurbs? I like that VGA PNY GEFORCE4 TI4400 128MB VGA, DVI-OUT & TV-OUT but I don't want to get a card that doesn't work very well. Anyone?

I've ordered 2 video cards (along with several other refurb computer parts) from them so far and everything has been just fine, and I think generally Newegg has an excellent reputation. In addition, even if you do get a card with problems, it's my understanding that Newegg is very good about returns on bad cards. I think the savings make whatever risk might be there perfectly acceptable.

Is there another 3D card with a 4200 in its name? :)

As for refurb cards at NewEgg, I hear NE is very good in terms of service if you get a bad card, but realize that you're not guaranteed any extras (just the card), and the warranty is a mere seven days (basically just long enough to check if the card is defective).

The current batch of refurbs is basically sold out, including that Abit Siluro Ti4200 for $69. You'll have to keep an eye on that refurb page, waiting for a new batch of cards, if you want a cheap 4200. There is a Ti4600 still there for $139, very fast card, but when you get into $140+ you can start looking at decent cards from the current generation, like the 9600 Pro and 5600 Ultra Flip Chip.

Newegg updates the refurbs every few days or so, won;t have to wait long for your cheap 4200/4400 card.
