So far I've heard the BX Master(118.95), then the BE6 2(117.95),
then the soyo 6ba+IV (98.95)atacom.com
what do you think, consider reliabilty, ease of setup/install,performance,features,overclocking,
etc
I know this isn't a hot deals thread, but prices
and places won't hurt.

So far, I`ve been very happy with my ASUS CUBX. It`s a little higher than those, but it runs smooth and overclocks my P3 550 well.

slot 1 board provide the ability to upgrade to either a flip chip or
coppermine slot 1 chip. I'm still undecided on a processor, but am starting with a 566 celly on an ms 6905 slotket...with golden orb fan.
What are the factors involved in overclocking the cubx and my agp video card. and using PC100 memory.

I suggest getting a controller card for ATA 66. That way you can pick the board you want even if it doesn't have UDMA/ATA 66 capabilities. The cards go for about 20$ and take a little load of work off of your processor.

do not buy a cubx if you are overclocking a celeron. there is a known voltage problem with it among other things. the cubx will not let you set the voltage higher than 1.65 with a celeron, even at 566. it just locks at the windows desktop every time.

you can set the agp to 2/3, so the 100 fsb is no problem. at 566 (the default speed of my processor), it performs reasonably well, although...i haven't noticed any difference with the ata66, but maybe i don't do anything that utilizes it.

good luck,

dirty

what boards would you recommend that are BX with 133fsb capable.
is the +33 option in the soft menu setting it to overclock?
I have an msi 6163 with that option, it doesn't change my PII 450s
apparent speed setting (still says 450). but I think my toshiba PC100
memory can handle it because it still boots at +33 settings.

any good leads on prices and places for the 66 controler, I'm gonna do that with my existing systems since(you guys suggested it)& because I have a couple ATA66 Hds. I notice a diffence when installing windows even without the controller the 7200rpm drives are quicker.
I still have an empty case, perhaps I should just wait for the Duron
and KT133 setup to be available and supported (out for awhile).
there is nothing like a scuzzy drive, I have one and when playing networked MS moto 2 it always is loaded first. and alot quicker at everything , even online stuff.I want to see if the ATA66 7200 is as quick as the 7200 scuzzy system.
