What's the best thing you ever took apart?

I had a busted VCR sitting around, so I took it apart. Figured out which parts could be tweaked, what was hopelessly gone, and played around with it for a while. Sort of got it to work, but it was beyond my ability. (really old machine, and the 4-year-old had been working on it)

It was fun.

So, what's the best thing you ever took apart?

Back when I was majoring in piano performance in the conservatory, I took apart a piano just to see how it worked. That was cool.

The tail section of my motorcycle to wire up a fender eliminator kit and new turn signals.

I even had to drill holes! Amazingly it worked right the first time. I was so proud.

I don't understand the question. How am I supposed to compare things I've taken apart? I've taken apart buildings, cars, computers, etc. How do I say whether a Mustang engine is "better" than a laptop computer?

I think it means as in what you think was the coolest/most enjoyable thing.
