whats the best telephone or internet deal in NY?

Ive just moved to NY, I need a new line (ie pone jack) and local and long distance service, whats the best service provider to go for and how much do they charge? Any deals, and especially internet deals too, would be appreciated.

Try out RCN's Resilink packages. You can combine telephone, cable modem and cable TV for one price. I'm waiting for it to hit here in Sunnyside.

setting up a new line with verizon is very expensive comparatively. Shop around and take advise from all those who reply here.
