i'm thinking of getting a t-bird or duron before they're all multiplier-locked, and i'm wondering what the best price/performance point is. any suggestions?

ne1?

just wondering if there's a sweet spot...a slower chip that will usually overclock a lot. also, if anyone knows any good places to buy that still have unlocked chips...

I was at a Fry's Electronics yesterday. seems that tbird 850 and up are the copper cores(bluish tint) while the durons and the tbirds under that are (green-blue)

is there anyway to tell if the chips are unlocked before you buy? i'd be willing to spend a little extra money at fry's to make sure it was going to overclock...

I know in the UK, OcUK guarentee that theirs are overclockable to a certain rate. I do not know wheter other companies do this.

I would say:

Duron: 650
T-Bird: 700 or 800

slot A t-bird 750 overclocks the best.

as far as socketed style ones, i'd say the 800 and duron 650.

I was thinking about ordering from there...
SO ahve you rune prime95 on them and made sure they're fullys table at that speed?

What voltage do they have to be? The overclockerz store doesnt state the voltage of each overclocked chip. Do they tell you later, or what?

Or is it stable at default voltage?
