The one thing lacking with PlayOn and Hulu is the ability to select the 480p stream....for this reason I have an HTPC hooked up to my TV and a BT keyboard / mouse combo. I can tell a big difference at 42" (360p vs 480p) so I know you will be able to on a 50"

I'm also using mine on a plasma.

I know they're working on the HD stream for Hulu. I think I'll pickup the Samsung plasma and if DLNA does everything I need then great. Otherwise I'll consider my other options including the mac mini or a console.

Just purchased a license for PlayOn. Anyone use Tversity and PlayOn? How do they work together? Or do I even need Tversity anymore? I use it to watch downloaded tv shows, movies, play MP3s.

I'm pretty sure that PlayOn is a media server just like Tversity. I don't think you'll need to use both, unless PlayOn doesn't play everything you want it to. I downloaded the free trial to play one thing from Hulu on my PS3, and I thought it worked really well. I now have an HTPC, so there's no need to use the PS3 for media streaming.

I haven't really liked the way Tversity plays through my PS3. If you stop watching something in your queue and then come back later, you can only start watching from where you left off, you can't back track. You can rewind within the same session, but you can never go back once you've left a session. Don't know if that's a Hulu or PS3 thing, I just know I don't like it.
