I've restarted in Safe Mode, ran both highly-regarded programs, tried manually deleted the spyware/adware I could find. I've tried removing the spyware/adware via the registry.

No dice.

Typically, Ad-aware runs with 15 processes on my PC. After getting rid of what I could, I'm now running with 17. These two processes are obviously causing the pop-ups.

I want to try a third program, or do you know of any other methods I can use to remove the bastages?

Make sure you have updated both Spybot and Ad-Aware. Then maybe try unistalling and re-installing them. If that doesn't work then, I don't know what to tell you. Have you tried restarting and having them run before it fully loads Windows (should automatically ask to do this if it can't get rid of them)?

Both proggies are fully updated, and I've run them before and immediately after restart.

I believe TechTV or Cnet has reviewed and compared spyware removal programs. Might try searching on their sites and see what you can come up with. If its not too bad, you might go to PC Pitstop and let it run its tests and see what they recommend to get rid of it with.

I replaced both of 'em with SpySweeper. It not only finds the stuff, it will also sit in background and prevent new ones from invading your space.

The ultimate spyware/adware removal proggy? I think it's called Windows Setup ;) And whoever is infecting the system gets a nice shiny Restricted-User account from here on out.
