What's the best sound card w/ Digital Out and Linux, Win2K support?

It seems to me that there is a severe lack of sound card drivers (both Win2K & Linux) for the type of cards I am looking at. I was thinking Acoustic Edge, but I have heard nothing about their Linux support. I did read once that the Turtle Beach Santa Cruz is (barely) supported in Linux. I had to give up my MX-300 because Aureal died and didn't write very good drivers for either of these OS's.

I'm not relaly fond of the sound quality produced by the SB-Live cards. Although I haven't heard one using DD pass-through to a digital receiver yet. Also, the fact that they killed Aureal through litigation is a big negative in my mind. Are there any other cards out there?

You could check out the Videologic SonicFury, which is identical to the SantaCruz. VL may have drivers on their website, in which case you should be able to buy the Turtle Beach card and use the VL drivers.....

Oh, and by the way - the SonicFury blows the SB family out of the sky sonically!!!
