...........the following options:

DDR
Jumperless design
Good PCI bus dividers when overclocking
Able to reach the highest FSB?
Best performance?
Best support?
What the hell, generally the best of all!

or is there a better option motherboard coming out very soon?

I need to build an Athlon XP system for my brother, but I'm not up to date with the ddr scene.

Thanks for your help.

have been reading several reviews and the Shuttle AK31 v3.1 sounds like a beast. And at $89 + $10 shipping @ newegg, its a great deal too. Several reviews can be found here.

most people said the shuttle doesn't o/c well at all, the few threads here said that 150 FSB is unstable..... I'd take the epox 8kha+ which has a 160 FSB stable.

hehe, go read that latest review at that link i posted...they had it runnin @ 166MHz FSB w/ np's 🙂

Thanks everyone, I've been doing some reading and I'm now clued up as to the DDR scene, yeah! 🙂

It'll be a KT266A motherboard, that's for sure. One of these mentioned on a 166 FSB sounds just awesome!

Any KT266A boards with anything higher than a 4 divider for PCI speeds? I think you'll need a 5 for 166!

If my brother can wait, PC2700 DDR 333 ram will be the next craze I'm sure.
