What's the best satellite service? (Dish network, direct tv... etc)?

Is there any difference (i.e. quality of the broadcast, selection, etc.) or is basically all just the same thing?
 
It is very similar.

Up in the NW, the biggest reason people went with one over the other is based on how many trees blocked their view to either sat. My buddy was about ready to get Dish until I helped him trim some of his neighbor's trees.
 
I have direcTV for almost 6years. Very happy.

My neighbor has both direcTV an dish. when I asked why.. he said that direcTV had better sports, but dish had more international channels.. her side of the fmaily is from italy, so they like the foreign channels.

I had Dish Network for a year but I switched to Directv this month because they have my local channels in HD. Dish Network has a lot more international programming choices. There are other channels which are unique to each one but they both have all the major networks and cable channels.
