I have some areas on my property where I'm getting sick and tired of spraying RoundUp every month. It'd be nice to be able to spray these areas with something, and not have to worry about anything growing for the rest of the year. However, these areas are separated about an inch from my lawn with one of those typical Lowe's decorative stone thingies, so anything used would hopefully not seep through the soil and kill anything on the fringe.

So can you guys recommend something? I want those weeds and bit of grass dead for a long time.

Salt will kill anything, and nothing will grow there.

For napalm, you could try the Fight Club method. 1 part gasoline to 1 part frozen OJ concentrate.

Or just dissolve enough styrofoam into the gasoline to turn it solid. Don't inhale the fumes...

Milestone, with a little roundup mixed in.

You might not want to get milestone though, it is like $1800 a jug.

You're using the wrong stuff. Just go to your local home improvement shop and look for their ground clear/sterilization products. Some of them only need to be applied anywhere from 3 months to a year, depending on the type of product.

You need to use an emergent type killer instead of roundup. Try 24D or atracine. These will kill everything except grass. And I do mean kill. Don't try spraying them anywhere near your flower beds. I mix roundup with 24D and spray it around pecan trees and the combination will effectively kill anything growing plus prevent any thing from growing for a few months. If you are dealing with hard to kill vines, etc. you may need a brush killer.

Go to a feed store and get what the farmers use. Home Improvement places don't carry the right stuff.

2,4D Silvex is probably more selective however in enhanced concentrations it will make everything wither within hours.

Always use precautionary measures before applying any herbicide/pesticide in areas prone to runoff where contamination of freshwater may be possible. These compounds are highly toxic to aquatic wildlife.

just fill the cracks in with cement - problem solved forever (or until it cracks again).
