what's the best printer for digital photos around the $500 range?

those that have experience in printing out their digital photos, what's the best quality printer to get?...i'd like to assume Epson, but would like to get the opinion of those that have actually done it already... 🙂

TIA 😀

Look into Canon printers. They are very good for stuff like that. The photo paper and photo ink really make the print outs look like photos.

$500 is a lot for a printer these days,

Just to make it a flush, stick to HP, they are only ones who know how to make an inkjet. The new line does some beautiful work, the feature laden models are $200-$300.

Epson or HP photo printers are the best.

I've been happy with my Epson Stylus Photo 820. The quality is really nice. Only drawbacks are the expensive paper (which is the same for any of the photo printers) and it's really slow.

I have one of the new HP Photosmart 7350's, its awesome. If you really want to spend more money, they make a better one than that for like $400
