Doesn't Costco have them for about $12/lb?

How much do you need to feed a person? A pound per?

Depends what else you're serving. In a full meal with appetizer and sides half a pound a person is probably enough. If you're just serving the legs and maybe fries you'll need closer to a pound. I've seen them $8.99 a pound, but that's rare. $9.99 is very good and $12 is good.

Keep in mind king crab legs have more weight in the legs themselves so with those I would bet on about 1.5 pounds pp with perhaps potatoes of some sort and a veggie.

Cheapest I've seen it is at Costco for $6/lb. It was during off-season so the legs were puny and tiny. It's around $12/lb now which is about average. Best time for legs is around Christmas when the legs are bigger. One pound per person is good if you're serving other stuff with it. Too much and it'll start tasting like rubber and you'll get sick of it. You can buy the case which is 20 lbs and you'll get $1/lb off.
