Hi, fellow Canucks,
I'm trying to figure out what are the best places (meaning "cheap") to buy laptops... I'm looking for a good laptop - P4 @ 2k and up, Intel-based, plenty of functions, good sound, USB 2.0 and FireWire, good video card with TV-out, and at least CD-RW/DVD drive... so I'm talking about powerful and relatively new machines.
The reason I'm asking is because I've seen the offers in FutureShop and BestBuy, and they seem to be very expensive, compared with, say, Costco (or U.S. stores). On the other hand, Costco doesn't offer much variety, and buying stuff from the U.S. is a hassle. The Staples stores I've seen are also poor in selection, and their machines are slow (besides being mostly Compaq and HP, which re considered pretty unreliable).
So whaet other stores are there to be checked? I've seen NCIX.com and I don't think they've refreshed their site in a while - how can they sell P3 machines for $4,000 ?
Cheers!
