I have an eVGA 7800GT (470/1100) card currently in my system. My current system has a 3.0GHz P4 and 512MB of DDR2 RAM. As soon as newegg has some Asus a8n32 boards for sale Im getting one of those and will build a new system with an Opteron 170, 2GB of RAM and will add an additional 7800 GT card.

I installed coolbits and used the detect optimal settings feature and it put the card to 500/1160.

I was wondering if there is a tool out there similar to ATI Tool for ATI cards that will run tests and gradually overclock the card for you. Previously I had an x600 Pro card with a 400MHz core speed and was able to get the card to run completely stable at 575MHz using ATI tool. I dont really remember the memory speed of the x600 but I know that I was unable to overclock the memory speed at all. Any increase in memory speed of the x600 and the card locked up and I had to reboot.

But anyway, I was just wondering if there was a similar app for nVidia cards that is like ATI tool. I really wanna see what I can pump out of this card.

Thanks.

What I use is essentially coolbits, except that it came with my TweaksRus videocards installed so i didn't have to do the registry hack.

It works exactly as it should.

Coolbits works fine, I don't trust the utility that tells you the maximum safe OC though... it gives me inconsistant results & often says settings I know will cause a lockup are just fine.
Powerstrip is also a very useful utility for all current video cards.. I actually have the full licensed version but I havn't bothered using it for awhile now.
