I've had good results with Crest Whitestrips Professional, available only through a dentist. They were good for six months of pearly white teeth. I've also used Crest Whitestrips Premium, and the results were good, but didn't last nearly as long.

Did research on this last week, not sure how much you want to spend. But a friend told me about Opalesence, said her boss used it, and over a weekends time she couldn't believe the difference it made. The kits are expensive, I think 200 retail. But, aside from the special lighting the Dentist will use to make the process more effective. lot of them use this exact product. I saw some kits on Ebay for cheap. What you get, you use the putty to make a mold of your teeth, send it to them, and they send you ones that will fit your mouth perfectly.

I have heard mixed reviews of the ones you can buy at Target like the Crest White Strips. They are much cheaper though. I'll be ordering Opalesence just waiting till I have the free bucks.

Saw a study done by a major news company over these...

Gels are generally better than all, but crest white strips came out on top over every over-the-counter thats out there...including gels

Go with crest white strips.

You can get the Opal set on Ebay for under 60 shipped. Not bad when you consider they send you a mold of your mouth. This is the only system I've read on that's available OTC and will show results after 1 night of usage.

I think I'll try the crest white strips (OTC) first and then if I don't have results I'll try the Opal thing

interesting link, sounds too good to be true. I'm a little thrown off by the testamonials page, maybe it's just me but in the before and after pics, they smiles all look identical to me. Maybe they Photochoped to make the results! heheh

I saw an infomercial about this product. Dunno how well it works though.

But, I did have the Opalescence teeth whitening kit and it made my teeth pearly white. I got so many compliments and even 5 years after I used it (every night for approximately 6 months), I still get compliments. My teeth are slowly turning yellow again (although my gf thinks they're still pretty darn white). The results started showing after a week (not after a single day).

I broke my upper left front tooth and the replacement that they had for me was kinda gray compared to the rest of my teeth. This was after they said the fake tooth was the whitest it could be without constantly glowing.

Last note, the whitening gels are known to make your teeth more sensitive. Not too bad, I just notice it when chewing on ice or having ice cream. Just an inconvenience.

If you are truly serious about whitening your teeth see your dentist, besides you see him/her every 6 months already right? ;) If not then there could be other issues with your teeth, like cavities or what not and if you try to whiten them you could be in for a world of pain. For OTC, Whitestrips do work well but expect to buy more than one box to get good results. Also shelf life of teeth whiteners is about 6 months so don't keep them around a long time, if you have to keeping them in the frig will store them longer. Personally I usually recommend overnight bleaching trays for my patients. I fabricate the trays for them and they sleep with them and they get great results. Those infomercial type products are a waste of your money.
