What's the best new current driver for my X800XT PE?

I read the driver thread but it doesn't seem to be up to date. I'm currently using the ATi Catalyst 5.8 but thinking about the newest Omega drivers (based on Catalyst 5.7) and am also open to suggestions. Any data/reviews backing up your argument that the driver is better would be nice.

Thanks in advance.

5.8s suck. I lost 10fps acorss the board with them. I say stick to the 5.7s unless you're having probs.

You must have some problem with your system, maybe you should reinstall all.

nah...it was documented on AT..something to do with the HyperMemory implementation accross the board..but my 128Mb 9800 pro got a good boost out of it ;)

Hmmm
Overall, the new 5.7 drivers will please the majority of ATI users out there, but the performance hit (even if it is small) with the higher memory cards isn't acceptable and might annoy some people. We feel that ATI should have at least given users the option to turn off HyperMemory for the higher memory cards, which should have completely resolved the issue

Also note from the same AT article that its more like 1 or 2 FPS at most, certainly not 10.
