What's the best Motherboard ??????

Hi all,

I'll be upgrading real soon and I'm stuck with a choice between either a KT400A, Sis748, or NForce. I'm mainly interested in an AMD motherboard that's stable enough to use all of the PCI slots if necessary without any crashing, supports AGP8X without errors, and is fast. Notice I want a motherboard with all three of these requirements, not just speed. Plus I will not invest in another power supply. If my Emerex 350watt can't hold it, then skip it. Also I should state I don't intend to overclock my CPU at all, especially since I'll be getting a new one soon.

Thanks in advance.....

I like the nForce2 Abit NF7-S board. I like it so much I bought one.

Has great Dolby soundcard onboard(soundstorm) that uses less CPU power then even Audigy. Supports AGP 8x, DDR400, 400Mhz FSB Athlons, fast very low CPU ethernet card, fire wire, etc......

I got mine from newegg.com for $125 shipped.

No if you want cheap, then get a ECS SiS746 board. I got this for my backup computer, great board for the $$$.

Thanks for the reply but I dont need on board sound, networking features, or firewire {Audigy has a port}. I just need a good no frills board.

An Nforce2 solution would be the best so either the Soltek 75FRN-L (I think that is the model) or the Abit NF7 (non -S). Both are quite solid and have minimal features.

You may want to consider the Biostar Model# M7NCDP

It has the new nForce2 Ultra 400 chipset and only costs $85 shipped.

It is not the best, but cost considered it is a good buy.
