What's the best, most advanced way to copy a dubious file from DVD to my HD?

I'm trying to copy a VOB file from a disk to my hardrive. It's not encrypted. It's about a gig. I've tried dvd decryptor and windows explorer. I've changed the copy speed too. I burned the thing last night on a 4x +RW disk at 2.4 I KNOW that the data is on there, but it's obviously very questionably on there. I had problem earlier in the day with another disk and I circumvented them by trying over and over at various read speeds. TIA

DVD Decryptor, multiple retries, a little breathing, some praying, and a tiny bit of luck is about the best way I know of to get those scratched, dirty, or otherwise questionable files from a dvd. Trying from another dvd drive helps from time to time too.
