;) Well IMHO for price and quality the Iiyama monitors sporting the M2 Tube are the best. These tubes are not only give fantastic results but also offer a SuperBright mode which makes TV, DVD and movies look much better and also offers games a perf-free AA effect too. They are pricey, eg. the 17" is priced among 'standard' 19" monitors ($200ish) but if I had the cash (which I don't) this is what I'd go for. VM Pro 413 and VM Pro 1413 are the 17" versions while VM Pro 454 is the 19" offering.

Iiyama UK (best to browse by selecting 'products' then 'CRT')

I am using the Envision EN-980e, 19" flat-screen CRT. I run it at 1152x864 @100hz. It is under $200 and CompUSA and Staples both carry it. The only complaints I read about it was that it was not bright enough, but I have the brightness set at only 65. My only suggestion would be that no matter what monitor you choose you view it in person first. I would tell you that once you get a larger monitor you will never go back. I am thinking about giving this to one of my kids and getting that 24" widescreen CRT that Sony sells.
