Whats the best method to back up CD's?

Say you own a few copyrighted CD's and you need to back them up for off site storage. What is the most efficent way of doing this?

Rip them to .iso or whatever and take the harddrive off site?

Rip them to either a big .iso file OR rip them as un-adultured .wav files.

personally, since I've lost partial hearing in one ear, minute difference in sound quality mean nothing to me.
192kbps MP3s do just dandy.

However, I know our resident audiophiles would insist on ripping with EAC and using a lossless encoder to shrink the filesize by about 50%
